Your watchlist is a list of alerts. Each one names a car and the years and price you care about. Every night we scan what came in from the sources we track and email you when there is news. The free plan allows one active alert.
Creating an alert
- Open Watchlist and click "New alert".
- Enter the make and model, for example Porsche and 911.
- When we know the model's generations, they appear as chips with their years. The newest is selected by default. Pick as many as you like, or choose "All years". If we have no generation data, enter a year range instead.
- Set a minimum and maximum price if you want.
- Read the line under the form. It says roughly how many matches a day your choice produced over the last two weeks, so you can tighten it before you commit.
- Click "Create alert". A confirmation email follows.
What counts as news
A new auction listing, or a recorded sale that closed in the last three days. A sale with no date is never news. Parts, memorabilia and relists of the same lot within 30 days are skipped.
Dealer and marketplace asking prices do not trigger emails. They relist constantly, and at first they made up almost nine in ten matches. Asking prices sit on the For sale now tab instead. An alert is about auction activity: a car coming up, and what it brought.
The nightly scan
The scan runs after 3:00 AM UTC, once the night's results are in. The top of the watchlist says when the last scan ran and what it found. One email goes out per alert, with up to ten matches shown and a link to the rest. If an alert emailed you in the last six hours, new matches wait for the next run.
Pausing, editing and deleting
Each row has Pause, Edit, Duplicate and Delete. Pause keeps the alert and its history but stops the emails; Resume turns it back on, and a paused alert does not count toward your limit. Delete removes the alert and its match history, after a confirmation. Select several rows to act on them together. Every alert email also has a "Pause this alert" link in its footer.
Click the match count on a row to see the matches, each linking to its listing.
