Your garage

Your garage

Add your cars, see what recorded sales say they are worth, updated nightly, and print an inventory snapshot.

Updated October 5, 2026

My garage is where you keep your own cars and watch their value move with the market. Each car gets a market value computed from recorded sales of the same model, refreshed nightly. You need to be signed in. The free plan holds one car. Paid plans have no limit.

Adding a car

  1. Open My garage and click "Add a car".
  2. Choose "I own this" or "Watchlist". Watchlist cars are ones you are considering; they are valued the same way but kept apart from your portfolio.
  3. Enter the year, make and model. As you type, we check the car against the production records and confirm it when it matches.
  4. Add what you know: trim or package, colour, mileage, VIN, purchase price and date, and notes. The purchase price is what the gain or loss is measured against.
  5. Save.

How the value is computed

The value is the median price of recorded sales of that model, cleaned the same way the valuation report cleans them:

  • Completed sales with a price and a date only. Listings and unsold lots never count.
  • The exact model year when it has 30 or more sales, otherwise the year either side as well.
  • Non car lots removed, prices under $1,000 dropped, clear outliers trimmed.
  • The most recent window that holds enough sales: 24 months when it can, widening to 48 or 120 when it cannot.

The card says "Based on {n} sales" so you know how much weight to put on it. A car with no matching sales yet shows "No market data available yet". Values are refreshed nightly, and opening the garage also refreshes any car whose value is more than a day old.

The numbers at the top

Portfolio value, total invested, cars owned, how many sit above their purchase price and how many below, and the overall gain or loss. "Appreciating" and "depreciating" compare today's value with what you paid, not a trend.

The inventory snapshot

With two or more owned cars, an "Inventory snapshot" button opens /garage/snapshot: a one page report with fleet statistics, allocation by manufacturer, era and price band, the leaders, and the full inventory. It is for you and prints with "Print report". There is no public link.

A market value from recorded sales is not an appraisal of your car.
